NICOLE CANTY
Nicole Canty (https://www.instagram.com/nicolecanty_theartist) is a contemporary abstract painter who lives in Webster City, Iowa. A native of Lexington, Kentucky, her colorful paintings embody the daily happenings in the life of a 6 year old.
From the young age of 7 months, Nicole began her artistic journey. She quickly graduated from washable paints to acrylics. Her innate talent of color composition and art composition as a whole is evident in her work. As a homeschooled student, she has also expressed her creativity through other means such as, mixed media, photography, and other interests.
Nicole’s artwork has been shown in exhibitions at the Ankeny Art Center in Ankeny, Iowa; Blanden Memorial Art Museum in Fort Dodge, Iowa; and at an art show outside of Rochester, New York. She has also sent customized painted stones to 39 contiguous states in the United States, just shy of her 50 state goal to spread happiness.
Nicole has been featured in The Messenger, a newspaper printed and delivered in Fort Dodge, Iowa for her exhibition at the 2022 Blanden Art Festival as well as in The Freeman’s Journal, a newspaper printed and delivered in Webster City, Iowa, for her scribble stones project.
“I love painting because it’s fun. I never know what I’m going to paint. I like to make new colors and put them on canvas so people won’t forget my new colors. I want other people to see my paintings.”
